Brief Summary: In
this decodable text children work on the –ag
sound by saying words likebag, rag, tag, nag, stag, and flag.
Evaluation Statement:
This small book contains simple sentences that contain –ag words along with pictures to help children associate words and
images. The size
would also allow for the child to use the book all by themselves. It would be very beneficial for a child to learn this way. However, the book is only gray in color which may not interest children.
I agree the color gray doesn't make the book look very appealing, so it won't interest children as much.
ReplyDeleteI read both this book and the at word family book and I feel that both of them are wonderful for the children to practice knowing these word families. I also like how they use simple sentences because it is not too overwhelming!
ReplyDeleteI think that having children practice saying the words individually, then using them contextually really helps to build vocabulary.
ReplyDeleteThese books are very easy to get out for a class and print multiple copies of, however they seem to have no story and are boring in picture. I liked some of the other decodables with stories.
